Types of dental implants India

Dental implants help in restoring the original teeth cavity by implanting an artificial tooth in place of the missing one. Dental implants are also done to fill the cavities between the teeth caused by bacterial action or fix a tooth missing due to an accident. In this article, we shall discuss the different methods of dental implants practised in India.

The most common type of dental implants India are inlays. Inlays are the supportive fillings within the cavities of the teeth that support the gum structure. Inlays are generally made of resin like material and are inlaid upon the teeth surface to strengthen it and prevent it from cracking. This procedure is beneficial for those suffering from cavities. Inlays, if done at the initial stage of cavity formation, may also stop further decay of the tooth enamel.

Then there is composite bonding, which is useful to restore the original shape of a tooth if it is damaged in an accident. Composite bonding is done with an adhesive material resembling the colour of the teeth enamel that is applied over the damaged areas of the teeth-set. The material used for composite bonding nowadays has developed a lot and one cannot tell the difference between the adhesive and the real teeth enamel.

Then comes the most sophisticated form of dental implants known as veneers. Veneers are made of medical ceramic which are used to crown broken, disfigured, bent or holed teeth. The procedure of implanting veneers is quite elaborate and takes more than one sitting. However, the outcome of veneers is great as it helps in restoring the original look of the set.

Then comes full implants, which refer to the replacement of an entire missing tooth. Full implants are fixed in the empty space left by the missing teeth, using a titanium screw. Nowadays, the material used for making artificial teeth is medically proven, and it is very difficult to differentiate between an implant and a natural enamel. In fact, the implant fuses beautifully with the gum tissues and forms of a permanent part of the oral cavity.
